If you let your children watch TV what cartoons do you let them watch? Are there any cartoons they want to watch that you say no to? We love Big big World here, and sometimes Between The Lions. My oldest is always wanting to watch Lilo and Stitch or Buzz Lightyear but those are no-no's here. When he visits his grandma she lets him watch as much TV as he wants.

My children love the cartoons and shows on our local PBS station. We don't have cable so those other cartoons aren't in the house. :) My favorites for them to watch are Arthur, Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and CyberChase. Non-TV cartoons (well, they are on Sat. Mornings now) that are encouraged are the VeggieTale and 3-2-1 Penguins. Incredible stories and Christian values. They are on NBC in the AM, if you get a chance to watch. I love the penguins the most. Truely funny!!! I know about Grandma letting the kids do as they wish. My mom feeds the kids sugar, lets them play video games and watch cartoons all day! They live on a farm with tons of places to play. (that's where I spent all MY time!!) Drives me nuts to find them inside.

We love PBS here. Its where Big Big World and Between the Lions is. I haven't heard of 321 Penquins, I'll have to see about it. I've seen Veggie Tales before but its too Christina for us.

I dont have kids yet. But todays cartoons arent as cool as ours in the 80s! I think i would rather let my kids watch 80s cartoons like Strawberry Shortcake (update version is ok I guess), my little pony, rainbow brite & carebears (old is better then new in this case IMHO) I used to love Pokemon but thats kinda violent. Maybe Sailor Moon? I dont thats popular anymore though *L* Sponge Bob is good though yeah? I think hes funny. He kinda grew on me since my sister though I thought he was cool. And now I have a bunch of SB stuff including a lego set :p heehee

I don't let him watch them because there is shooting/blasting in Buzz and I don't like him imitating the antics in Lilo and Stitch, especially the fighting with the monsters.

I only let my kids watch cartoons on Noggin, PBS and some Disney. Aso Nick Jr, but some of the stuff on Nick Jr is too mature for them so no Spongebob or Fairly Oddparents. And no Cartoon network either.

I let my daughter watch almost any children TV or cartoons that she wants. And we watch together. Mostly she will watch the educational and interactive ones such as dora, sesame street, blue clues, little einstein. And spongebob, bratz, winx, etc in between. There is one that I prefer her not to watch though, it called south park. Luckyly, my daughter said it self if it's too much violence in that cartoons and she will switch the TV to other children program.

We don't do too much limiting as to which cartoons they are able to watch. They like a lot of disney channel and nick jr cartoons. My oldest is really into princess type stuff. She is a romantic. My youngest loves Diego. I have to say that the earlier comment about it being America and others needing to speak American is a little uncalled for IMO. Children are GREAT at learning another language and it has been proven to increase intellegence. We are actually learning spanish right now as a family and it is a lot of fun!

My eldest boy likes Spongebob Squarepants and Horrid Henry. My daughter likes Bratz and Pepper Peg. They both like The Simpsons including me and the wife. It's the only thing we all watch together. We let them watch whatever cartoons they want (except adult cartoons). Arkad The Richest Man in Atherstone

OK. I was asking what cartoons other parents let their children watch, not whether children love cartoons or not.

i let my 17 month old watch any programs from PBS. they are educational and meant for babies his age. i am ok with it because they arent too fast paced. i hate when i go to get him from grandma's and they have spongebob or some other crazy, loud cartoon on for him. sesame street, noddy, kipper, pingu...all of these are perfect for him. but i have to be careful becuase now that he is getting older, he is becoming a couch potato and thats what i dont want. its ok for now because its still cold outside, but once the warm weather hits, we are going to be outside exploring.

i have my niece and nephew at home who are 6 and 4 years old respectively... they watch a lot of cartoons and animated series.... i love watching those animated movies with them like little mermaid, bean, tom and jerry and many other cartoons... but one thing i hate them watching is that Power rangers, which is not a cartoon... an action series... they started watching it and started screaming like them and to do that action fight also.... now we stopped them watch that programme....

I am not married yet, but still i like watching cartoons especially those animations. My parents never said no to me because it is very good for children, i like tom and jerry and every time it comes i never missed it. Just because i like it so much my parents also love to watch it, it is funny, they make us laugh and its a good time pass too

i am not a mother yet, but when i become one someday, i will also choose the cartoon shows my children will watch. i will be picky on cartoons because i have a younger brother and sometimes the cartoons he watches contain words like stupid which i think are unsavory for someone who is at an age like that. he is 7 years old and i think some cartoons are very violent to watch especially if you have cable and you can not monitor his watching every time.

Nowadays cartoons have gone a little too far. If I had children I definitely would not let them watch South Park, The Family Guy or any other cartoon not intended for younger viewers. I have to say Sponge Bob or Jimmy Neutron is acceptable for them to watch.
