I have an experience in a military school here in philippines, I enrolled as a 4th class or plebe on one of the finest military academy in the Philippines, suddenly i Quit for 8 months as a plebe on that academy you know why? because of "Hazing" there is no day that i had been hit by a 2x2 wood or anything that can punish me or hurt me...I dont get it why those senior or what they called higher class has smile on their face while hitting our butt! they say that punishment is for our sake to be a real man, and to have a tight brotherhood. in your view is hazing must continue or stop specially on the institution like that?

I just can't get it. Why would they are practicing such "rites of brotherhood" in hurting other people. Good thing you quit and didn't die. Such practice should be an eye-opener to your politicians and should NOT be tolerated.

and to add up, because of that "ms: military secrecy" , most hazing victims just shut up and let the physical wound heal... and others also dont live to tell the tale... by the way, my dad is a retired soldier, and he doesnt share his experiences to us either..

honestly, hazing is totally inevitable, specially in military schools and fraternities. but doing harm is not the only reason why hazing is present. another reason for hazing, though not really thought of as a perspective, is giving the participant the feeling that he's putting up a sacrifice for something he knows would give a long term benefit for him, and those around him. you, as the participant, after all the pain and sacrifice, would in the end, feel that you withstood all perplexities and hardships you were facing. life is queer. and its up to you, and no one else, if you're gonna face the realities of life or not.

oh youre pinoy!!! aehehe.. well i think people who use harsh hazing to tighten bonding are all brawns and no brains... there's really no sense in beating you up everyday if that will just make you rebel isnt it?? i mean hazing or slight beating is good to some extent if it was meant to punish someone for doing something offensive,,, as if to discipline you but to use it everyday?? its senseless for me...and i think those people who does that are sadistic freaks... so should hazing stop in military school?not really, but at least control it and use it for something worth beating for...
