What makes you left or right handed?

That is a very good question. I think it has yet to be answered with real solid evidence. I can say that I have seven children and of those seven, I have one child that is left handed. I noticed that when he was a baby and me introducing silverware, he would always grab the spoon with his left hand. And after that, I realized that when he picked up finger food, he preferred his left hand. I found it interesting and would often place things in front of his right to see if he would pick it up with his right. Which, most often, he would still pick it up with his left. So, after discovering that he truly preferred his left, I was sure to encourage him to use his left when learning to draw and color. Other than that, he seems the to not differ from my others children that much. They say that a person that is left handed is more creative...but my other daughter is very much an artist and uses her right hand! :) So, I have not figured it out myself either. And maybe one day we will uncover the mysteries of the brain. Until then...I enjoy trying to figure it out. :) Welcome to myLot!
