If you added sugar, it could be the culprit. As well as the chocolate. Or even the oil from the coffee beans... but as long as you don't overdo the sugar and chocolate, I shouldn't think it would affect your weight significantly...

It's not coffee it's the sugar in coffee which makes you fat. Stop eating salt and sugar as much as you can and you will find a whole lot of difference in improvement of your program to lose weight . I have tried it personally and lost lot of pounde following this secret.

Coffee has nothing to do with fatness. It has only an ingredients that will make you awake. So that will make you thin. Instead of drinking it with sugar, some don't put sugar in it. So that will make you thin.

coffee doesn't make you fat as long as it doesn't contain sugar or chocolate mix. in fact, coffee does help in boosting your metabolism which makes you lose weight a bit faster.

Caffeine can affect your blood sugar, depending on how much you consume, so you might want to research that, just for your own information. I don't believe coffee alone would "make you fat" but what you put in it or have with it clearly can. Adding sugar and hot chocolate mix in the same coffee cup sounds quite sweet. The food plan that I'm currently following does allow me to have coffee but only with a bit of low-fat milk (we drink skim in our house anyway) and something like Splenda, if I wanted that... but I don't sweeten my coffee. My daughter and I were discussing, just this weekend, how many girls her age (she's 16) think that they will stay slim by not eating and just drinking coffee. However, they are not drinking coffee but rather "coffee drinks" -- the fancy, sweetened creations available all over the place now. Some of those can easily reach 300-350 calories and more, depending on the size and what "extras" you have (like whipped cream). I would imagine that cutting back on what's being added to your coffee will help you along with your weight loss, Michele. I wish you a lot of luck with that... I definitely know that it can be hard work!

that coffee mixture of yours really adds up some pounds for you . . . specially if you add more cream ; hot chocolate or so much sugar so calories are bagging up. try to alternate coffee or fresh milk for morning breakfast or make some cup of coffee with the splenda sugar and minimize add-up on cream of half and half .

Coffee, black will not get you fat. But the sugar, or flavored creams will make you fat if you drink a lot of it constantly.

Yes, I would cut back....I only have it in the am- I would change the hot coco added- maybe go for low calorie non dairy creamer. I like half and half too, but that can be fattning too. Don't put in too much sugar.

i dont think so that drinking coffee can make anyone fat but yes, if you add hot chocolate into it then yes, because it is having lots of carbohydrates and proteins which add bulk to your body, if u take normal regular coffee with or without milk with little sugar you can never go fat.

I think the only thing in coffee that can affect your weight is the sugar. Coffee is not good for your stomach though. Think it contains acid...Good luck with your weightloss!

Oil from the coffeebeans? What are you talking about? That makes no sense at all! Coffee isnt a fat maker, what you put in it can make you fat. Combined with the sugar and hot chocolate mix, ofcourse you get fat with that! If you put in a artificial sweetener and some skimmed milk, than you do a better job. The only thing coffee can make you bigger is the fact that it gives you more energy. So if you take a cup at night you stay awake more longer. And in that time you can always head out for another snack, you are not sleepy, working here on my lot and want a snack to accompany you. Coffee dont make you fat.

Like everyone else said, coffee doesn't make you fat, sugar does. You could simply avoid sugar and everything will be ok, I think. There are some very good sweeteners nowadays, you won't notice the difference if you change it.
