When I arrived to NY from California I needed a job quick and to a late night bartender job , which meant that I had to close up by myself each night and I had been robbed twice in Ca so I was a bit nervous. After a week I got used to it and this night I went to the back door locking it then on to the front and locked that checked all the windows,made sure everything was off in the kitchen then on to the restrooms to turn off the lights.I turned the ladies off and went in the mens.They had been remodeling the bathroom and you had to walk in past the stalls to where the door used to be to turn the light off and it was up high so I had to reach around a closet where the mops etc were to hit the switch.I would push the door open and reach in and switch the light off and scoot out to the dance area.I reached in and had my finger on the switch when a hand went around my wrist.I almost peed myself.I looked around fast and saw the trash container that someone had puked in and with my other hand threw it at the monster in the closet.The hand dropped and I could hear a drunken voice say."Jim that youuu I thin-k I couud use one morrrre.Turn the light on ,huh?" It was just one of our harmless drunks that had leaned against the closet door and it opened and he fell into the closet and passed out for a while.Don't you think he got a tongue lashing from me and he left stinking to high heaven from the unknow substance in the trash bucket!We both laughed about it later and I would ask one of the patrons to stay while I closed up cause you see I'm a bit chicken!
