I have read these two, great, lifechanging books. I am wondering if anyone else has read them and what they thought of them.

I haven't read these books, but I watched Oprah when she had it on. Seems to me a good premise, but very hard. When you are faced with adversity all the time and just naturally negative, this can be really hard to do! I try to be positive but in the face of constant problems, its very hard. And I have no idea how to change it!

There is a Sequel to The Law of Attraction" it is called "Ask and It Is Given" and it has a guide book and a method for gradually getting from one level of negative thinking and so it is helpful to use when you are thinking very negatively.

I know, they did have one suggestion, just relax (the key to all of it) and think constant thoughts of perfect, perfect etc one after another. Another method would be to think of good things that you want or have had. Or ask yoursef "wouldn't it be nice if...

I haven't read "The Secret", but I do have "The Law of Attraction", and I even have a free ebook of it. However, I haven't had time to read it either.

You really should find some some time to read both of them. there is now a sequel out to "the law of attraction" it is called "Ask and It Is Given"..a more In depth manual to use with "The Law of Attraction".

From what I've heard The Secret is a self-help book. What exactly is so life-changing from it? From what Ive heard it also seems very cheesy. Feel free to try to change my mind. :)

Actually I found that the Secret could be described as a bit "cheesy", but it has one theory, your thoughts have power especially if you have a positive feeling (happiness, excitement) when you think them (for example get more money by thinking good happy thoughts about money, and not your debts and and lack of money...doing this will only attract more debts and lack of money). If you can handle reading a book that has been channeled, (or if you can just ignore that part and concentrate on the lesson being taught) "The Law of Attraction" is a more powerful and more instructive as to exactly how to go about it. It is taught in sort of a teacher-student mode with one of the two authors asking important questions of the channeled ones (that call themselves Abraham). So,again, I was able to get more details and specifics out of "The Law of Attraction" than "The Secret". The law of attraction simply stated is that like attracts everything that is like it. The universe is like a maganet. If we are povertry minded and think only about poverty, debts, and how "bad" rich people really are, then we will only attract poverty. I have one example from my childhood. When I was about 13, there was a time that my father (over a period of days or weeks, don't remember for sure how long)...kept telling my mother how sick she looked. She eventually believed him and became sick. Think of fat kids in school, all the other kids tell them how fat they are, and what happens...well they really don't get any slimmer! (another one I grew up with)

You asked about the books, and I am about to respond re the concept. It works. I tried it after a lecture on the subject. It works. That was what mattered to me. But it is true, too , that maintaining that vibe is tough.

I think it is like any other exercise, it gets easier the more often you use it.

Actually, I had no idea that anyone else was interested in this kind of stuff. My brother brought "The Secret" dvd for me to watch. I only watched the first part and had to stop it to care for my 2 children. With them I hardly ever have time to watch anything at all. I'll have to be sure to find time to finish the dvd.
