Ten Commandments of a Wife

Using the Ten Commandments as a format - let us list commandments for the wife and mother. I will place number one here - you add to it:
1. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thine whole heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind; and thou shalt love thy husband as thineself.
Thou shalt not make thine husband into an idol, but thou shalt love, honor and be obedient towards him as thou art unto the Lord.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not love soap opera, or your children, or anything more than you love God.

It amazes me how often Christians forget that they actually have TWELVE commandments. ;) Don't forget to add the two that Jeseus gave to your list!

We have a very many number of commands, the Ten Commandments encompass much of the others. The two that Our Lord gave to us house the "Ten" If you love God with your all, and your neighbor as yourself, for the Love of God - you will be keeping all other commands. Don't you think?

Good call!
I do have to differ slightly with the part in the earlier post about obedience, though. In my opinion, God intends husbands and wives to be equals, and a woman can make her own decisions without it necessarily meaning that she is not devoted to her husband. Compromise is a beautiful thing, but it should never, ever come at the cost of a woman's rights.

and here is what God says to the husband
Ephesians 5: 25. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
would you give your life for your wife Christ did !
many men can remember the part abourt wives submitting but forget the rest!

absolutely. you are correct, but, I think just as many women forget their role. That is why I thought this would be a good topic. Can you devise a #3?
This topic being about women's duties, maybe someone will start one concerning man's duties :)
