i am making a memorial montage of my mother, who passed 2 years ago on the 20th. i want to give this as a gift to my dad and my sis on that date. i'm in a quandry on one photo i have. it's an excellent photo of my mom, with my sis but my sis looked horrible. my sis has asked me to destroy this photo before but i just couldn't. now i want to use it but i don't know how that would set with my sis. this would be a gift for her but for other family members also. i don't want to tell her about the gift and ask her if it's ok to use the photo. what should i do???

Many stores, including WalMart, that have a photo center have a machine that you can use to scan your photo and then reposition and crop the image. You could take it and crop your sis out of the picture and enlarge the good image of your Mom into a regular size photo. My dad has done this with a few family photos. It is not very expensive either, less than $1 a print.

thank you so much, i can't believe i didn't think about cropping it. i'll just explain to sis in a letter with her copy why she's cut out of the pic so she doesn't take it personal.
