Reincarnation as an animal or insect

I've seen some people respond that if given the choice of what to reincarnate as, they would like to come back as an animal such as a bird. While a bird has the ability to fly there is the drawback of predators, if they get injured theres little opportunity for help, you would mainly be stuck to a certain area, you would have a short lifespan, you would have to compete with other species or rivals, you would generally not have much protection from the elements. Other animals would have similar and other problems, given these difficulties would you still want to reborn as one?
