Having the biggest bounty in East Blue at 30 million bellies after defeating Arlong.His bounty then increased to 100 million bellies after he defeated a shichibukai member sir crocodile,
and again raised to 300 million bellies (on level with shichibukai members) after defeating rob lucci of cp9 and declaring war on world government
Luffy is a Devil Fruit user named "Gomu gomu no mi" translated as "Rubber rubber fruit".This fruit gives the user the properties of extremely durable,stretchable rubber.
Allowing luffy to stretch and fold his body without pain.
