I'm the proud owner of an Australian Cattle Dog/Dingo mix, but it's hard to find other owners out there with one of these beautiful and intelligent dogs in their family. So here is everybody's chance to show off their family member. Mine is named Blue. We got her from the pound when she was a year old and she is now 9 years old. I just found out she was blind, but she doesn't even let it bother her. She runs, though carefully, and plays fetch in the house. She is my baby girl.

I have two australian cattle dog sisters. I got mine as a rescue through a friend. Their brother lives a couple doors down. They are now 9 months old. Their names are Sansy and Lyla. You are correct about saying how intelligent this breed is. They have been great in the house and with the children. These dogs are prone to being blind, but I bet she makes up for that loss with her sniffer. Right? Have you had any signs of hip displasia in the girl yet?

Not that we can tell. She has an odd limp to her walk, but that's because of abuse from her previous owners. I wrote an article for Associated Content on her, with a cleaned up picture of Blue, if you want to check it out: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/195105/father_of_a_blind_dog_learning_to_care.html If you like to write, you can also join here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/join.html?refer=63193 Do you have pictures of your dogs?

I have an Australian cd/australian sheperd mix, by far one of the most intuitive dogs I've even seen. He seems to just understand what I'm saying when I give him commands. This may come from my almost losing him as a puppy, to parvo. after he came home from the vet I would carry him every place I went, even work, I run heavy equipment and he would ride the tractor(s) to this day if it rolls he just has to be on it with me. Some day I would really like to train him to work live stock. I'll soon post some pictures of him on here, he's a beautiful blue!
