I think its a great challenge for many people. This commandment forbids us to harm our neighbours life, whether by thought, word, deed or desire. It's a mortal sin against against the fifth commandment:To kill a person:murder, abortion and so forth. To wound, threaten or injure ant person;or not to forgive an offender. To hate or wish death or some other serous harm to befall any person. To take our own life, mutilate ourselves,or seriously endanger our health;for example by failing to go to hospital when sick. Whoever injures another is bound to ask for forgiveness and make good the damage done.

You are right I think it a great challenge too, but also God knows we will fall short of the word sometimes. Just try to be the best person you can be and it will all workout in the end. I had a real hard time forgiving my husband for commiting adultery it took months believe me, but I have just learned to recently forgive him now I just need to learn how to forget that it happened. Pretty much saying some things take time but I do believe we can forgive but no one said it is easy and once God sees that we have forgiven God will forgive us. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Mattthew 6:14,15 And, that person doesn't even have to ask for your forgiveness for you to forgive. For instance my husband asked for forgiveness it took time but I have forgiven him. In another situation I was raped many years back never seen those men again and if I do I do if I don't I don't, that is not the point they never asked me to forgive them for what they have done to me but I have forgiven them it took me awhile but I did and I am over it, I am, I just mentioned these situations so that you or whoever is reading this can see different situations of forgiveness not that you don't already know I just meant from my aspect of it. And, each situation does talk about what you mentioned above because the hurt that each person caused me I did have ugly thoughts in my head because of what they have done almost each thought up above meaning what you wrote. But with the grace of God I was able to forgive and to be forgiven for my thoughts that I had which made my sin just as bad as the sins they have commited. I would have never felt those ways towards people before situations happened but they did and now I could be set free in so many ways with the power of forgiveness.

And it doesn't say that this commandment it restricted to people. I for one don't eat animals because I think killing them is wrong as well. Thou shalt not kill, period. And as the leader of a country thou shalt not send soldiers to another country to kill either.
