frankly speaking , buying a referral is not legal . However , some sites sell the referrals to their members (eg. dormcheck) if you buy referrals for Mylot , then you may get many referrals but actually they may not be active here . You get more money only if your referrals are active here ...

I don't think that it is not legal. The simple reason behind is that the sites themselves offer to sell the referrals. So in this case if it is legal to buy the referrals then, what is harm in buying referrals from somebody else? However, the difference is that when the site offers referrals, it has got some members who have registered directly and they are not downline of any member. So they have ready list of members to be alocated under the member who buys the referrals. And on internet some are such that they sell you the referrals just to earn some money. Here the sites have some specific terms under which the referrals have to remain active for some time then only the credits will be given to the upline. So in any case it is legal.
