                    My youngest was a special needs child he was born at 24 weeks gest. and when he finally got home he needed to be on constant oxygen and have various things tested weekly (a nurse would come to the house to take care of all that) and looking back I dont think I ever remember anyone being inconsiderate or ignorant etc etc...in fact ppl were more than accomadating more often than not come to think of it..

                            I just wanted to add that I had an ex who (after an accident we were in) was quadrapeligic *sp* and i can say without a doubt that ppl were extremely ignorant, less than pleasant and sometimes flatout rude when it came to him/us etc etc....Everythign from thinking that because he was paralyzed he was also braindead or couldnt think for himself, to finding him an inconvience when we were out and so on...

                            That's terrible, especially since the physical disability was very evident and still they were rude like that.
