Why do people smoke??

Just wondering why do people smoke? What is so great in it? Everyone knows how harmful it is,yet people do it? Do you smoke?have you ever tried to quit?

Well thats a difficult question to answer as smoking is one of the habit much about any reason and unfortunately it addicts the person who smoke even for once.....so I think people smoke in order to avoid tention and all.
