How do you get ketchup stains out of a tan carpet?

My daughter got sick last night after eating fries with ketchup. There's now ketchup stains on the carpet. Anybody got a good (& easy) home remedy to get the stains out? My landlord will have a fit if they don't come out.

I have also heard that putting baking soda on the stain will get it out. The main thing is to do it now before it sets anymore!
