Is anyone afraid to get a taxi nowadays?

In England they have so many posters about illegal cab drivers everywhere, preying mainly on nightclubs where vulnerable people come out drunk and alone trying to get home. They have tried to set up safety procedures like texting a cab and they text u the details of the car that will pick you up etc but i have had experiences where a licensed cab driver from a local trusted taxi office was very strange and stayed parked outside my apartment for at least half an hour looking up as i live in a tower block. With all the drugs and stabbings i wouldnt be suprised if we become more or less extinct in a few years times. Really a bad way to beat the baby boom.

most definately I foud that when i leave a club i have two choices. I can pay really overpriced amounts from the licesed cabbies or pay a low fare at a risk. I mean personally i would rather pay more for my safety but when people are drunk their logic doesnt work the same, especially if they have spent too much in the pub and only have a certain amount left

We have a shortage ofcabbies hre in Calgary Canada, because some of them went on strike in support of a muslim driver who refused to pick up a blind woman and her dog at the airport and ws fired for it. They were all fired. As well they should have been. They have no right to impose their religion's restrictions on other people here in a mainly Christian country, especially when that person is disabled
