to help us stop smoking. We've gone almost a full 24 hours without smoking and so far I've had 2 of these lozenges because even though they're supposed to be cherry flavored they make my throat hurt when I use them and taste yucky. I have eaten my weight in junk food though just to keep my hands and mouth busy. And I'm starting to rattle on aimlessly in every discussion I try to respond to here tonite...is this a sign of withdrawal? I've gone days before without smoking and haven't felt like this, I almost feel sick to my stomach. What've your symptoms been when trying to quit and how did you deal with them?

I have to see what else I can use as the Patches are not helping and they are not staying on me either.

One of my friends is a pharmaceutical rep and he swears by Chantix. I had some when it first came out, and miraculously it's covered under most insurance plans. it worked great except I kept forgetting to eat when I took it and it gave me terrible upset stomach. If this lozenge thing doesn't pan out I'm going to go back on it and take it the way you're supposed to.

Soccer, sounds like you and the lozenges don't agree. Perhaps try the gum or patch? While I haven't personally gone through nicotine withdrawal, I have talked with and seen hundreds of others who have! Many do report symptoms such as irritability, difficulty focusing, and nervousness. Some do report a 'quitter's flu.' The symptoms are just like those of the flu, and sore throat is a symptom. I have provided a two links for you.The first is about the 'quitter's flu' but the second is a much more comprehensive read and will explain to you what is going on in your body as you withdraw from nicotine. It is not pleasant, but please, tough it out...it is the best gift you can give yourself! I've never smoked, but congratulations to you for trying to quit! I've heard the withdrawal symptoms are not very comfortable, but you've only gone 24 hours... it might get worse before it gets better, but KEEP AT IT!!

Hello Soccer Mom! If you're trying to quit smoking then I'd suggest you try some Tahitian Noni Juice. You CAN buy the generic "phony noni" from other brands, but Tahitian Noni is the the first company to bring noni to the open market. Plus, 40% of the other noni products doesn't have a drop of noni in it. Noni juice helps people with a million and one different things. If you drink some, you'll say it tastest horrible. There's a reason for that because of all the toxins on your tounge and in your body. It would be best to let it sit on your tounge for a moment to clear your palate. I knew this one guy who tried it for the first few days and he said he couldn't even inhale his smoke. He had to force himself to suck down the nicotine. Another side benifit from noni is that it will stablize your body back to normal. www.tni.com/darrenandkaelidenny

I know this sounds crazy but I also heard eating banans helps with cravings for nicotine. it's complicated but somehing about the nutrients in a banana send the same signals to your brain. Noni juice, eh? I don't know why I thought that was for weight loss...lol

there is this gum that you can chew everytime you feel like smoking and it really works. but the thing is it's kinda expensive coz if you consume a pack of cigz a day thta means you have to chew like 20 pcs of that gum to prevent you from smoking. i'll keep you posted with the gums name as soon as i find that freakin label..
