Interesting computer noise caused by Windows Update

I recently took my computer off of auto update for the Windows updates. Yesterday the icon popped up saying there were new updates. I disregarded it until this morning. I started up the download/installer and walked away and started to vacuum the house. All of a sudden our bird started making all kinds of noise, which is weird because normally they could care less if I vacuum. So I turn the vacuum off and I heard what they were making the noise at - a strange alarm sound (just like a car alarm). My husband starts looking around and finds out the noise is coming from my computer - which is OFF and won't turn back on! We turn off the power supply, noise continues. We unplug the already off PC and the noise stops. When I rebooted, nothing was wrong but the update didn't install. I am not going to try to update the PC again.
Anyone had this happen before?

That's strange, I have my computer updates on its own and never had experience that ever since I have the auto update turned on. The only thing I remember was that when after having the update installed and rebooted my windows suddenly was not operating normally but then I ignored it after a day or two it was operating normally.

I had my computer set to auto update and I recently (within the last week or so) turned it off. I think because it kept trying to update when I was working on a project. I believe the update that cause the issue was the last one that had something to do with malicious software.
