The Best Web Browser on Earth!

I used to think that the best browsers for using the internet were Opera, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. That was before I found Maxthon. It has exceeded all the features that I have seen in other browsers and is much better than I expected from a browser that I had never heard of before. They are almost out of the beta 2.0 version, but even the 1.x version that I am using right now is pretty amazing. Why? Well, let me tell you: * it uses tabs like all the big browsers out there, making it easy to multitask and view all the pages you need to. It also has a counter in the bottom-right corner that shows you how many tabs are open. * it was easy to import information from IE. All my passwords, histories, everything was easily imported. The browser still uses most of the same settings as Internet Explorer does, so it was a very easy switch. * it does not consume a lot of memory. I had my Firefox browser taking up over 80MB of RAM, memory that I just don't have when working on an older computer, and that was with just a couple of tabs. I'm running two tabs right now and it is only taking up 18MB. There's a counter at the bottom for that, too. Those are only a few features of this version, but if you google Maxthon and look at the website, and look at what is coming out in the second version, you would probably be amazed that you haven't heard of a browser like this before. I would also reccommend downloading RoboForm (it came with my installation, though I do not know if it is standard for all installs), which makes it very easy to store all your passwords and things and keep them protected with a master password. I simply love this browser. It is a very small download, less than 10MB, installs easy, is easy to configure...there are just so many features. It blocks out advertisements, can switch easily between online and offline, can allow you to surf through a proxy, and pretty much tells you everything you need to know about how it is running. Plus, it is fast. Not the Internet connection and download itself, though they will be introducing download accelleration in the next release, but the program itself is fast, and rarely freezes. Much less hassle compared to Firefox and IE. I highly reccommend searching for and downloading this killer browser, or at least take a look into what you may be missing out on.

Good for you that you're satisfied with your present browser. Currently, I am using opera as my main browser. It is much faster when compared to other browsers. I like the overall speed performance of it. It has fast execution especially when returning back from previously visited pages. It is safe to use too. It has widgets like the add-ons of mozilla. Overall, I am so impressed and grateful with my opera browser. However, I also used mozilla and IE for sometime. Have a nice day and God speed!

I was with you right up until you started comparing web browsers to girls. That was where I lost you. Can I give you some advice? Though you can cheat on your web browser, in fact I encourage you to cheat on your browser with Maxthon, don't cheat on your girlfriend, spouse, or otherwise significant other. It usually doesn't work out too well for you when they find out (I know this not from personal experience, but from examining the experiences of others around me).

Thanks a bunch. I'm actually downloading it right now. It's cool. The best feature that I like so far is that it doesn't take up so much memory which will be helpful to my old computer. Thanks again for sharing us this info.

Yes, the memory usage was the big thing that won me over, though it wasn't a factor in my downloading it. I was actually just fed up with Firefox and IE7 and was looking for a browser that would be a good substitute, and randomly came across this one. It was purely by chance, and once I saw in the bottom corner how little memory it was using, I fell in love. I hope you enjoy it!

Wow! A browser that operates just under 10MB? That's good news, that is. Firefox eats up a whopping 50MB (gasp)! Although my RAM capacity is large enough to prevent lagginess, still, I could do with more free RAM. Problem is, I'm deeply in love with Firefox already. Hard to change browser when you're in love with it. =P But thanks for sharing anyway. I'll check it out. Maybe wait for them to come up with a newer version before I start using. hee hee

I downloaded and tried the 2.0 beta version today (just over 2MB download!), and it looks like they are working on many, many new features, though it isn't quite there yet, so if you do try out the browser, make sure it is either the current stable release (which is awesome), or wait for the new version to be officially released. I admit, I love Firefox, too. I thought there was nothing better. I still want some Firefox features to be implemented into this browser. The thing was that FF was taking up way too much RAM. When you are running on about 128MB of RAM, everything stops when you get a single program taking up 90+MB of it. I'm happy with Maxthon taking up 18MB and having my computer still running smoothly.

Opera is small too.. and it has all the features you mentioned in Maxthon. But I will keep a lookout for this browser and see if its really worth the switch. :)
