what do you know about sholay?

I have seen that SHOLAY is a hot topic in mylot.I am going to share some facts about the movie.
Sholay took two and half year to make.It went Rs. 300,000 overbudget.It was the first hindi movies to have a stereofonic soundtrack.
The film was set in the rocky terrain of Ramnagaram,a village near Banglore.The filmmakers had to build a road between Banglore and Ramnagaram for convenient access to the set.
Sholy was released August 15, 1975.Audiences were light at first and the critics were harsh.But after that a curious thing happened.Ten weeks after its release SHOLAY was declared super hit.

i think there wont be a person who watches hindi movies and hasnt seen sholay.. people use the lines used in this movie in day to day life.. each and every dialogue of this movies is a superhit... be it kitne aadmi thae.. or suar ke bachchon.. gabbar is the all time super villian..
ramgopal verma is trying to relive the magic of the movie but lets see what he cooks up..

Hi thanks for the reply.No one can make same sholay.Particularly if we think of gabbar we will miss Mr. Amjad khan,Sanjeev kumar for thakur,Veeru for Dharmendra.No matter who remakes sholay still we will miss the original sholay.The old sholay is unforgottable.

i really love this movie. till date this is the only movie which i can watch again and again. its dialogue, acting, setup everything looks perfect. i dont know whether it can be made better also or not.

Thank you for the information about sholay...
Sholay -the film of the millanium.But i wonder what factor of the film strike on the people..The story,stars or the different mode of the film style..I also wonder why this formulae never won again..Why other films in the same category fails to get much response..The sholay runs 5 consecutive year in a theater.All this are amazing and unbelievable news for me...
Sholay is the best when consider the popularity...

Sholay is the all time great movie for the bollywood.This movie had brought a new trend to hindi movies...I think the remake of sholay is not goos as the old one....ram gopal varma failed to deliver..Old is gold.....
