I think whether we want or not at certain point of time we have to switch to the latest operating system because it is their marketing strategy and they will definitely try to capture the market with the minimum hardware requirements. They will lower the prices of the hardware for certain point of time so that people can easily buy them and then as everyone will have an upgraded computer they will definitely switch to the latest operating system as you can understand that the latest version will not support the older version of operating system or it will not be optimised for that. If you people have not forgotten the history of Windows explain them that this is how they captured the markets. Suddenly there was a lower price for each and every hardware which were required for running Windows XP and is the reason why the operating system quickly captured the market and the other older versions were totally optional loot. And is now you'll hardly find in a hardware or software which will be running on an operating system which is lower than Windows XP. This shows that at certain point of time we have two upgradeable computer to run the windows latest version because it is not be who are deciding over needs but the market who is deciding what should be over needs and so it is just a matter of time when we have to go for the gradation for computer all will get obsolete in the market and in the competition

I don't think it's the right moment to migrate to Vista because it's still not compatible with other major applications that we use. So Win XP for me..

The best idea is to make your system to boot in dual mode..I mean install Windows XP on 'c' drive and Vista on 'D' drive. This way you will be able to do normal use in xp and at the same time you evaluate windows vista...However you need at least 512 mb RAM and 1Ghz processing speed to install vista.

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA. Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API. I am already using windows VISTA

I've tried Vista Ultimate for about a month before, but not anymore because i don't activate it :-D It's cannot be use now until i activate it. But so far so nice, only less speed and performance than XP. But good looking, more animation and easy to use goes to Vista. But for those who have PC that not quite compatible with Vista, better use XP., And for those who wants Windows XP looks like Vista, can search and dload for free Vista Transformation Pack or Vista Inspirat. But i prefer Vista Transformation Pack. ;-)

Well, presently i am using XP but i am planning to shift to Vista as soon as possible. I am just waiting for Hard Disk upgrade. Its really cool and smart it fits to your hardware configuration really well. It enables the features which your hardware can support an just disables the rest on its own.
