I always like this kind of event in the religious community or the church, this preparation for the lenten season and the lenten season itself. I am a catholic and its like customary to us to commemorate the passion, suffering and death of Jesus Christ. I particularly like attending recollections or retreats in preparation for this. I also like people in our communicty and fellow christians going to churches during the holy week. I like this season because i think it gives us time again to reflect or meditate on the very meaningful event in the history of our faith as christians apart from our busy lifestyles, work, and obligations at home. This season and my reflection on the passion, suffering and death of my Lord Jesus Christ affirms my faith in God and the unconditional love of God for me. And it is thru His beloved Son that saved us from sin. I would be happy to know about your view on the lenten season and its own meaning to your life.

Lent to me is the time to get a lot closer to jesus christ by contemplating His sorrowful passion and accepting the slow martyrdom of my suffering for His sake so that He can lead me to salvation through the Father.
