What's so great about Cricket?

Yes I know I won't win any friends with this post but given that the Cricket world cup is currently taking place I just can't contain myself anymore. I love sport but for some reason I just can't get excited about cricket, I think it's the fact that it takes days rather than hours to play.

I'm not a fan of cricket either. To me it seems silly that they have to try and run in all those pads. I also can't see where the skill is really. I prefer watching a game of tennis or a football match.

I agree, now tennis is a good game as is my favourite sport football. cricket just goes on and on and on and then ends in a draw five days later and you think to yourself I watched all this time just for a draw. I think they could make it more exciting like using live hand grenades to bowl with other something, that would sort out the good from the bad.......(don't try this at home)

Hi, I accept your comments. I just dont like playing cricket. It takes a very very long time to know the result not like Tennis or football. More worse in case of a test match of 5 days. But i like to watch it in my free time and at least ask for scores in my busy time.
Just watch cricket with friends and have a discussion about it with them and u will know why people love watching it. I watch any match not just India's matches. People of India have a addiction for the game. They dont watch hockey which is our national sport but watch cricket for hours..

I never knew hockey was the national sport of India, you've taught me something new today, thanks for the information. I tried going to cricket matches but I still can't get excited about it. Hope India do well in the world cup, personally I think they have a better chance than England of winning it, but I still think the Aussies will beat everyone

I am the same , I am not much of a sports person but hubby is , but he can't get into cricket either , I would rather do My Lot lol , I am addicted xx

You've won me, it's refreshing when another guy can honestly say that he is not excited about cricket. I hate it, I find it so boring and would rather watch paint dry. I can't understand why people go overboard about it, mind you I hate football too, kicking around a piece of leather and getting paid extortionate amounts of money for 90 minutes just amazes me, oh well, good job we all different!
