when applying for a job, normally it is the resume that is requested by the employer, it is what shows the employer the grades and qualification coupled with experiences you have. the question now is how to get a good resume.

You should "target" your resume toward the employer and position for which you are applying. If you want to be a widget maker, emphasize the jobs and experiences you have that would make you be a good widget maker. Also, you should keep it fairly short, and eliminate the fluff that is unnecessary (such as unrelated jobs you had 15 years ago). Finally, make sure that you have an excellent cover letter. Employers get tons of resumes. Make sure that your cover letter makes yours stand out.
