Do you have to work overtime alot? Why? Is it becuase of more money, or is it just because your boss tells you to?

thankfully, i don't have to do that. my daytime work only requires me to be in the office for 8 hours/day. i could extend for an hour or so if needed, but that rarely ever happens.

I work overtime whenever the option arises. I don't do it by being lazy during work hours, I do it by being TOO fast and taking on more assignments knowing that soon enough, it will all explode at once eventually and I will need to work overtime. I try to maximize my overtime purely for the money. I love money, and I love being paid 50% extra to do the same work, on top of that, my commuting time remains the same, and I go home when the subway is less crowded. As for the longer days, I am used to it.

No i really dont work overtime. The idea to work overtime is not a good one coz you would be straining youself. Money can be earned by working efficiently and if your boss asks you to work over time then i guess for a few time it is fine but then try to finis the work during the working hours and also let your boss know that you would not be interested in overtime. The way you put across the idea should be diplomatic only then it would work else it might turn against you.
