I have to say it is a good form of exercise and form of great meditation to the mind. I have studied to arts: Aikido and Muay Thai Kickboxing. I don't get into fights, I usually counter throw or counter attack my enemy unless they tend to strike first. I do submission holds depending on what attacks they pull off. This is great defense and counters when enemies come at you with a weapon such as a knife or gun. How about you? What form do you know and study?

I took 4 years of Korean Martial Art training (Tae Kwon Do) during my School days under military instructors, it was not fun training under them. And when I enlist to the Army, I went to Unarm combat, for 2 years. It combined Throw and kick into the techniques.

im doing both aikido and taekwondo (both for sports and combat) seriously. in fact im training almost every day in these two disciplines. but aside from those two, i also have a yawyan (some sort of muay thai) and brazilian jiu jitsu background. and if i could find some more spare time, i might practice and train eskrima or arnis. it just feels so good knowing some martial art techniques and combining them for your own. and not to mention the fitness it brings. martial arts is both good for the health and a very practical hobby/interest.

i studied taekwondo last year. but i had to stop because it was really physically draining and i couldnt handle it because of the enormous workload in school and i couldnt keep up on most of my academics. but i had fun when during those trainings and at least i know some basic techniques that could help in self defense.
