What's the biggest regret in your life?

Mine is my college life.. I just feel like I could've done better with my grade.. I should've made friends with more people.. My ex-boyfriend was a jealous and control freak at the time, so he would be jealous if I hung out with people.. I was okay at the time, but looking back now, I kinda regret how my college life went... I just wish that I had done more.. Oh well.. There's a saying.. "Don't regret the past because it is what you wanted at the time!" I guess it is somewhat true.. Oh well.. Though I regret it, I just wanna do better in the future.. Let me see if I can make up for that.. =) What's your story?

There are so many. It would take a book to record them all. But thanks to God, I am still well and healthy and so have a chance to make up for them; or at least try to.

that's the best thing to it. even if we have done lots of wrong things before, we still have many years to make up for them. atleast, we still have years to try and to make them right.

I have many things to regret. The biggest is that I had a real opportunity to go to IChO (international chemistry olympiad) but I got ill and I miied this chanse. It happened last year. I still can't forgive myself that my body was so weak. Oh, poor me, I could take so much from that.

i think that my biggest regret was when i stayed in a relationship for 2 years with a man who never deserved my love, attention, efforts and time. she kept on cheating on me several times. i kept on forgiving him hoping that one day he will change, but she never did. so it was the greatest decision ever for me to break up with her. but thing is, after some years, i thought that i was lucky to go through such a bad experience. i have learned a lot and i became a stronger person after that, and i can say, that with my present wife, that i have a better wife so, thanks for my bad experiences ,which have done before.

my biggest regret in life is that i didnt show to may dad how luck, blessed and thankful to have him as my father..he's still alive but they my mom and dad separated 6 years ago.now that he's not with us,it was so stupid of me that i never showed him how i love him.. but i do learn from this..that to avoid the regret in life,we should live life to the fullest!and we should always remember that we only do the things which will makes us happy.

I dont like keeping regrets. There's no point keeping it anyway. We can never turn back the hands of time. The best thing that we can do is to have a positive outlook in life. Live your life to the fullest and make every day the best day of your life. That way, you ll never have to regret anything because you know had the best time of your life.

My biggest regret in life was that when i accepted the love of my ex-bf,i trusted him and i thought he's the guy with one word and can keep secret..but then i'd learned that he's a "kiss and tell" man, which i really hate most!..and everytime i remember that past of mine, huh!i wanted to turn back time and let him down!

That would have sucked... I would hate it, too, if I encounter somebody whom I trust, but at the end, he/she betrays me... And I especially hate backstabbers...people who kiss and tell... Can't stand them... I can feel your pain... Thanks for sharing, sahira!

Well, regrets are the saddest part of ones life, very pessimistic and demoralizing. I think of them very less, though when I do, academics is the first thing which comes to my mind. I think sometimes, that like you I could have done better in my +2.Most of my friends are very successful in life and quite early for their age. They inspire me, and I am deliberately using the word so that pessimism doesn't creep back into my head and it can lead to complete destruction of any possibility of a better future! So, I try to think ahead and leave behind my past for good. Cheers. :)

similarly my biggest regret lies in my schooling life, i regret not going with my interests and choosing subjects that i really like, and i regret not working as hard as i should have to acheve better grades and results.
• Singapore

Yeah... I found out the same thing... But I am trying to get better job and be happy to make up for it.. I mean, though I was not too much into the subject that I learned, it becomes my skill now, so I am trying not to feel upset or anything when I feel like I didn't accomplish what I really wanted... =) Still worth something for my future.. =) Thanks for replying, timou87!

having read your story, i am reminded that i am like your control freak boyfriend. in my situation, i am the one who is jealous when my boyfriend hangs out with other people.your story is somewhat am eye opener to me because i feel like i will make him regret his college life because i was his girlfriend and i am in control of his life. i hope that someday he will not. although, i know that he loves me like you love your boyfriend that's why he allows me to be that.

Yeah, I did love my ex-boyfriend at the time, so I had no problem doing it... But after we broke up, I started to regret this and that... Life was no longer beautiful...at the time... Haha.. Life is beautiful now.. =) Hey, I am glad that my story could possibly help others.. =) All I can say is that if he loves you, he wouldn't go anywhere.. =) Controlling him doesn't make him love you more... That's just my opinion, though.. =) Thanks for responding.. =)

Hind sight is always 20/20! I have not regrets at all, it was because of every crappy decision I made that I ever learned anything in my life, and the good times were a bonus to that. I am who I am because of where I have been in this life time, and for that I am truely appreciative and greatful.

My biggest regret in life is having a longtime friend for more than 20 years that you discover one day doesn't consider you a friend, but use you , lie to you or manipulate people to believe him just to get what he want,i wish i have your regret in life and have a better future.

I have 3 big regrets now. My latest was joining a GYM because they WONT let you out of the contract. We joined Balley Total Fitness last March and as of January they wouldnt let me quit even though I had NO job and the ONLY one near our new place is 25 mint away! Plus we DONT need the GYM! The other two are NOT taking an internship for college, now I gotta work hard to get enough units and try it through this school. My last is my big win for my workmenscomp issue. I won a lot of money (wont say how much) and instead of buying a car, or saving, I just spent it on stuff I didnt really need. I know we shouldnt have regrets. But I do. Just stuff that has changed my life in some way now in the present.

I fell in love with a real great guy from way back. We met in college but I was in a relationship at that time while he seemed like every girl's boyfriend so I completely ignored his advances. We met again by chance a few years after college and we started dating. It was wrong timing though coz we're both engaged with someone else. The few times that we're together were the best! But I was a fool pretending to be cool about the whole thing. Fact is, I was scared that by doing so, we might lose the friendship along the way. I regret not having told him that I have fallen in love with him. Looking back, it would have made a difference on our lives.

What happened after that? Did you guys meet again and have a continuation? I think just as long as you're still doing great with him, then it would be okay... =)
