My son is 3 and he is not eating his dinner. He has stopped using his fork or spoon and is using his fingers again. It takes him forever to eat the same meals that used to take only a half an hour but he cries if I try to feed him. I don't know what to do because i don't want to make meal time a fight. Anybody with a suggestion?

ive had this problem with my son as well.. ive found that when he goes through growth spurts he eats alot better though. when he is not going through a growth spurt he seems to have very little interest in eating his supper though he will still eat, he plays with it for the most part.

I thought of that but he has always been an eater growing or not. This kid was up ever hour when he nursed, I was supplementing him with formula because he was so hungry. The doctors finally told me to give him rice cereal at 4 months because nobody was sleeping. So this new thing is hard to understand.

It started just after we moved from Alberta to BC around January. We had to stay with my parents for a few months. His whole life was up in the air and is only just settling back down. Maybe it will get better but it is causing my husband a lot of grief and he is putting that on my son. I just want him to eat without the fight.

He does it with every food. Even the ones he likes.
