My husband works so hard to support us. He is a class one truck driver doing local Pick up and deliveries. Before that he was a class one restaurant food delivery driver moving 1000's of Lbs. of food and supplies by hand. His health is failing and his body is too. The man is so good to do all he does just so I can stay home. Last night I told him I wanted to take on a typing job from home for a local office and he told me no my work is raising our son and staying healthy in this pregnancy. I would love to hear about your hard working man, or what you did as the hard working man for your family.

My husband is a hard working man as well. He has even worked 2 jobs before just so I could stay home while pregnant and then stay home afterwards raising out other children and our baby daughter. He works in -24 degree temps at night driving a fork lift. He works in a national cold storage facility. He too has health problems and needs things done--he needs a bowel resection done (due to diverticulitis), vein stripping, vasectomy (due to a heart condition that I developed when I was pregnant, no more children can happen). He also has sleep apnea. He works 4 ten hour days each week, and sometimes more. He started this job in August and makes twice what he did at his old job. When he was at his previous job, he also worked a second job and he was hardly ever home to see me or the kids. Now its better. He wants me to just stay home and take care of the kids and do what I have been doing however I do know that some of the strss needs to come off of him and I have offered but he has said no. He does a lot for his family.

God bless them but if they would let us help out things would be easier for them. Funny story about cold. My husband was an owner operator for a long time until our son was born. Our first year in Alberta the heater went in his truck. He drove the entire winter in -40 before wind chill with the window open because the windshield would frost up with it closed. Turns out it was a $100 fix that we did in the spring. He was so cold in his truck that the warehouse was warm to him, even the referred part of his truck was warmer then his cab. Silly man.

Oh wow...that sounds so much like my husband. We needed a vehicle so badly last August that we bought a used Saturn with wiring problems. In November, the window motor shorted out so my husband drove that vehicle (our only one mind you) through November, December, January, and most of February until my van was fixed. And of course the window had to stick DOWN. Unfortunately we live paycheck to paycheck. Wish we didn't have to though.

I know that feeling. It sucks when the paycheck comes and it gone the same day.

You know, you are lucky to have a hardworking mhusband. Unfortunately, I'm a widow. However, when he was still alive, he is an industrious husband, He was a professional. And he is a good provider. But he was an understanding one. Because he knew that before we got married, I am a career woman. So he allowed me to go on with my career. But when I got pregnant he asked me stop working. When my children were grown up, I asked permission to allow me work again as a teacher. And he approved.

I am sorry to hear that he is gone. But he sounded like a good man. I am glad that he let you go back to work when you r kids grew up.

Your right we are lucky to have good hard working men in our lives. I know some men that aren't worth the mud on my shoes. Thanks for your response.
