What is your religion, and why do you choose to believe in it?

I don't believe in any religion. I was raised as a christian (Roman Catholic), but as I grew up I realized that I couldn't bring myself to believe all those things taken from the bible that were taught as actual fact.

I am a Christian because Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. Christ has set me free from bondage and fear and lies...trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding (or what others tell you or lie to you about!) I was "raised" roman catholic for a time...do some research and realize where the real lies come from...man, not the infailable, living word of God. Christ is about His Word, not about doctrine created by men...Be blessed and be a blessing.

I wouldn't call that "lies". The people who raised me as a catholic and indocrinated me in the religion were being completely sincere. They did believe what they were telling me was true (some of them still do). They meant no harm, they really believed that, since it was how they were raised too in the first place. It's just that, in the end, no matter how sincere people are, sometimes they simply aren't right. Of course I have no hopes of convincing you that the bible isn't infallible - with a nick like yours, how could I - but if you for a moment at least _pretend_ there is a possibility that the bible isn't the true literal word of god, you might understand the line of reasoning that I followed.

I am a Seventh-day Adventist(SDA). When I was born my mother was an SDA. She became one 5 years before I was born. She previously was a Methodist. My dad, who was born in Italy, was a Catholic but joined the Methodist church when he married my mom. They went to church on a regular basis but after my mom became an SDA he quit going to the Methodist church or any church at all. Then when I was 4 1/2 my dad was baptized into the SDA church. I am still an SDA because the doctrines of the church fall in line with the Bible. One of the doctrines that makes the SDA church different from other protestant churches is that we go to church on Saturday the seventh day just like it is stated in the 10 commandments.

Never heard of that one, have to read up on it, thank you for the response, this is exactly why I posted it. Curious about religions I have never heard of, I like to understand the different ones.
