LOL well I appreciate all seasons, but I think my very favorite is fall. And a few years back I was looking for some house hold decorations and ordered some corduroy cloth pumpkins as fall decor. Well, I liked them so much, I kept them up all year and then began collecting! I don't have many, about 8 or 9 total, and one wall hanging. But I love my pumpkins :)

That's cool. My wife started the same way collecting snowmen. She does not leave her whole collection up but some of them do stay up all year. We actually like all seasons too. It is hard to pick a favorite one unless it is at the end of a season and then we are usually ready for the next season to arrive!

Pumpkins remind me of the football coach in my school. He belly looked so perfectly round like a pumpkin :) We used to joke that there was always two soccer balls in the ground, one being kicked al the time, and the other one running on its own aroundthe ground.

the days when I was younger and my mom would gather all the neighborhood kids around and we would decorate the pumpkins. We had a great time and some of the way the pumpkins were decorated were out of sight.

...a very tasty 'utan bisaya'. It's a native dish of Filipinos, the Cebuanos in particular. I love lots of pumpkin ingredient because it would just make it more tasty and so good. I remember that everytime we have it for dinner or viand, my elders would tell me to eat lots of pumpkin to make me beautiful or to have beautiful eyes. Now, I tell it to my children everytime we that it.

I was actually thinking of pumpkin pie when I replied to your discussion not because I had ever tasted it but because I was wondering why it is not such a popular pie here in my country . I have never tasted a pumpkin pie ever and one could never find a grocery store or any bakery that bakes and sells pumpkin pie. Seems such a pity. Maybe one of these days I would try to bake one and see what it really tastes like.

It seems that the few who have responded to this discussion do like pumpkin pie. I love it and my wife sometimes makes it at other times than Thanksgiving and Christmas.

PIE! Pumpkin pie is my husbands favorite. It's not my all time favorite but I must admit to eating a few pieces if it's around. I used to love going out, buying fresh pumpkins and making pies from scratch. I haven't done it in a long time. Arthritis snuck up on me and those babies take some elbow grease to clean and cut up! Maybe one of these days I'll do it again but hubby's gonna have to cut it up! LOL!

Cockatiels. Most cockatiels have orange cheeks. Both of my cockatiels do. I also once knew a girl back in elementary school who had a cockatiel named pumpkin.

Pumpkins remind me of the harvest season in my village. There would be plenty of pumpkins there, for sale, auction and free supply! That creates an air of prospeirty, though the farmers work really hard for a good harvest. At the end of the day, everyone would be happy watching the pumpkins....especially if there is a good harvest.

Is it true that they smash pumpkins for certain celebrations in India. Also, do they carve pumpkins like we do here in the U.S.
