Do you often get bad service at 7-Eleven?

I was down in California a while back visiting all of my buddies from college, and I stopped in at the local 7-Eleven. It was just like I remembered it. I wanted to buy some charcoal fluid for a barbecue, and I couldn't find it in the store. I went up to the guy at the front, and as usual, he was on the phone. He saw me waiting, and I kind of put my hand up, but he stayed on the phone anyways..For like 5 minutes!!! Then when I asked him for help, he said...I don't know if we have any, and wasn't even willing to look in the back. A "Convenience" store should be just that, Convenient. Anybody else agree? Or better yet, have you ever had a good experience at 7-Eleven?

I agree with you on this point. I would also like to add that convenience stores only employ one or maximum two employees at the store. There are so many customers at the store to serve that they cannot serve all the customers at once.
Another factor could be the long shift hours that the staff work on. Those long hours can really take a toll on their bodies and the staff might exhibit a change in their behavior. Such as ignorance and talking back to the customer.
One should not expect great service from a convenience store. People should instead just get the item they want, pay at the counter and leave. As convenient as that!
