AMERICAN IDOL, are the contestants better than last years/American Idol rigged?

Are the contestants from this seasons American Idol not as great as the one from last years Idol. I honestly believe that Ameircan Idol is rigged. Starting from auditions to the winner. I know there are a lot more better singers who went to the opening day auditions and did not even make it past the producers. The number of voters is probably correct, but who the numbers actually voted for probably was decided by the executive producers of American Idol. What do you think?
