Have you ever been assaulted during a hold up? Were you left for dead? were the criminals captured?My poor husband was working at a sandwich shop when he was 17 years old, he was responsible for closing the place. He had locked the doors and made the deposit into the floor safe when some guys began banging on the door for service. he explained that he was closed, sorry. When he left the building at midnight he heard the clink clinking of chains swinging. before he knew it his head was split open and these two thugs were demanding the money - which he of course did not have, it was in the safe and he could not even open it. They continued to whip him about his head and upper body with the chains, and the second time he went to the ground he let out a blood curdling scream...the thugs ran off, he made his way back into the shop to call the police, and they were there in an instant. The cop was there before he heard the dispatch, he was down the road in his vehicle when he heard the scream and went to investigate. My husband was able to identify the 2 men in a line up and by mug shots, but neither of them were arrested nor charged or anything. probably let loose on a plea bargin. which stinks! The sandwich shop did not even offer to pay hospital bills. outragious. Were you ever assaulted for money?
