Free hosting providers: would they cheat me?

I am planning to host my site with free hosting providers. When i talked about this idea to my colleague he said they may cheat me. After few days they may block my account on the basis of some rules and regulation and i would be in such a situation where I wont be able to retrieve any of my uploaded files. When I thought about it i too felt that he is right. Why should someone give free space in their server? They would be having some business strategy behind it. Any people here hosted their account with free providers? If so what is your opinion about them?

well many opinion is wrong, they never get your file or your account or bad things, the key is after your activated account you should changes your password, i a webmaster newbie but know about this, if you try to get free hosting i will give you for free just like another member here are already get free hosting from me and no problem so far, because after i created your account and you should change the password, i cant get in in your account again BUT i cant control your activity what kind file and quota you use. if you use file for bad things or scam i will terminated. this simple how hosting woks. they never get your file only for control for good reason.
if you need cpanel account hosting with full fiture like a fantastico etc just contact me i will give space 100MB and 500 bandwidth.
