I quit smoking 9 days ago. I slipped one day and had a smoke but other than that I am doing good. I have a problem with eating though. Everything in sight. I know this is common for people who quit smoking. Do you know anyway I can quit smoking but not gain 50 pounds!!?!?!!

Wow!! I'd personally fly over to wherever you are and shake your hands to congratulate you (and to steal your emergency stash - i'm trying to help :P) I've seen people quit smoking on TV and yes, they do resort to the munchies. To avoid gaining the extra weight, why not keep healthy stash of munchies around you like fruits, celery sticks, sushi... haha. If you think those stuff sucks, good for you, you'll quit munching in no time!

Congratulations! I quit one year ago the 9th of this month. It was the hardest thing I ever did, but I did it. Statistics say you will eat a lot and gain a lot, but after one year your overall weight gain will be 5 pounds. I gained 10 and have not been able to shed them so far. I suggest using commit, it stops the urge to smoke and also helps you from eating so much. I used the lozenges and I liked them a lot.
