I have been doing a little research since reading that some of you are thinking about becoming published writers. If you are interested, there are a few places on line that offer free instruction and guidance. Look at writersbliss, harlequin, and creative writing 101. There is also a mini writing course by Steven Barnes. Yes, I know some of you are thinking that harlequin is just a romance novel site and you would be mostly correct but they have published writers there giving some pretty good instruction on characterization. There are others out there but I haven't researched them all.

Check writing books out from your local library. That's also free, and they're really good to read.
