Is a church building important to you or can you worship God anywhere?

I grew up with the concept that church is who you meet with, not just where you meet. It doesn't need to be a church building. I have met in forest chapels, homes around the fireplace, in truck garages and picnic tents. God is where His people gather. The Bible promises He will be with us whenever we gather with others in His name, even as few as two or three.

God is not only where his people gather, he is everywhere. He is in our hearts, in our good actions. I don't need a Church to speak to God, or pray, because he is always with me.

That is true. He is everywhere and always there.

While it's true that God is everywhere, it's also true that we are commanded by Him to get together from time to time to worship and pray. Now, this doesn't need to be done every Sunday morning at 8:30 in a church building with an ordained minister, but we do need to have some connection to the rest of the body of Christ as well as accountability to other believers.

I believe that you can worship God wherever you feel like it. I know that I worship God at home when I have my Bible study time, prayer and worship time. I place worship music on and then start my prayer time and Bible studying. I just talk to God and worship Him. I love to have the Spirit fill me. I can almost always feel the presence of God when I do that. However, I do believe that I need to worship with a congregation of other believers to experience a different level of worship. But I think you can worship God anywhere. I sometimes even worship GOd in the car as I am driving.

My kids and I love to listen to praise music in the car.

I fully believe that God is where you seek Him. He's not confined to a building, and neither is His church! It doesn't matter if you're in an ornate cathedral with stained glass windows or sitting around a campfire with friends, God will meet you there.

I agree with you. I do also believe we should fellowship on a regular basis with other believers but it doesn't have to be in a church building. The church is the people who worship "in" it.

I am not a great fam of organized religion. I have had some bad experiences with the so called pious churchgoers. I believe God is everywhere.

I am sorry for your bad experiences. If you go to church then it certainly is important to feel comfortable with those around you.
