Say hi to my little girl, Dharma

Last Friday, me and my boyfriend drove to Battle Creek, MI to adopt this little cutie from the Humane Society there. I found out about her on http://www.petfinder.com and applied for by fax. When we first got to play with her she was super hyper and all over the place. As soon as we go into the car, she started showing love and giving us kisses. She is super sweet and smart too. She is already 1 1/2 and already knows how to sit, come, and is mostly potty trained. She hasn't had any accidents in the house yet! She is a Basenji/Jack Russell Terrier mix, so she's hyper and active when we are outside. However, when we are inside she just chills out on the couch or plays. She really loves getting treats, and that is what we are using to train her. I'm am super happy with this little one, as I feel that we lucked out on her!

What a sweet dog! She is super adorable and looks to be a good size...not too big, not too small.
How great of you to adopt a shelter dog. It's so important to rescue animals and sites like petfinder are so helpful in that respect.
Great name too!

Wow, what a sweet little thing she is. I'm so glad that things worked out for you. I have a friend who had a really hard time with pet finder because the shelter they were referred to kept resceduling their appointments to meet the dog. Finally the woman just stopped returning calls. My friend was pretty heartbroken about the whole thing.
Dharma is just lovely though and I am so glad to hear that she has such a loving home!

Thanks so much...she is truly a sweet girl.
I can be hard finding a compatable shelter on petfinder. I did my research and searched for a while before deciding which shelter to work with. I actually had to travel a couple of hours to get to the shelter that I decided to work with, but in the end everything turned out great.

Thats great that you adopted a dog that needed a home. There are so many pets that don't get that chance. And to hear you are happy with her is even better. Enjoy her shes very cute.
