i had my husband, my mom, and my mother in law in the delivery room with me while i was giving birth. i didnt have any "rules" for my mom or mother in law, but i did have one for my husband - do not look down there when the baby is coming out. lol. i didnt want him to see how scary things can look down there and i didnt want him to be traumatized. i have read of men who are not sexually attracted to their wife anymore because of what they have seen. i did not want that to happen with my husband. for the longest time, i beleived that he didnt look, but then he told me the truth, he had to look when the babys head was coming out. he said he couldnt resist. he was too excited. well, i dont mind, but i am just glad that he didnt pass out, and that he still isnt afraid to touch me. haha.

During my delivery, my cousin and my sister was with me, for the reason that they are hospital staff. Else, if they are not, it will just be me and the doctors. But my hubby is outside waiting. The hospital wont allow companions inside the delivery room.

In the hospital where I delivered, they're quite strict with non-medical practitioners in the delivery room. We had to get an authorization for my husband to be inside, for my first baby, but he ended up sleeping in the room due to exhaustion and the long wait, so he didn't make it. On my 2nd baby, which I just delivered 2 days ago (05.29.12), we decided he'd just have to stay in the room and wait. And, he did say that he doesn't want to see the process especially how it looks down there when the baby comes out.

I did not have any rules. I had my baby at home and it was just my husband and his sister. I did not want alot of people because I was worried that they would be a distraction. We wanted my husband to be able to catch the baby but I was holding on to him while I was pushing so he was not able to. Maybe next time we will be able to do everything we wanted since we will be a little more prepared.
