Ok, I am a die hard rocky fan. And that was just messed up. His LAST movie and he losses?? And hold on, no no no, not to some big, fast heavy weight. That guy weighed like 120 pounds!! Rocky even being 60 would have broken that toothpick in half!! RETARDED!!! Good movie. but really...

Rocky is not about winning, its about fighting spirit, and he sure shows fighting spirit in this movie. Furthermore, as a fan, you should remember that he lost in his first movie as well, to a similar sized black man, Apollo Creed. I feel that it is a great and fitting end to a classic movie series.

No, apollo creed was bigger than that guy. that guy had a runners body. i believe one of my friends looked into to it. that guy is a middle weight fighter in real life. so i disagree. i think they could have choose someone bigger thats all.

i agree with this. the right fighting spirit is what rocky balboa endeavours to get his son to realize and to have. remember that at the start of the movie, it was shown that his son was embittered at the thought that he is standing in the shadow of his dad's popularity? he hated the thought of it so much so that he went to confront his father about this. it is this incident that triggered rocky to come back to the ring. he felt that it is his duty to make his son realize and imbibe a good lesson in life about the need to fight in order for one to keep his rightful place in life.

Rocky wasn't in there to win, he was in there to prove that he still had the juice in him; plain and simple. Like a man said in Rocky 5 to one of his mentees, Rocky fought wars in the ring; No lie; Whether or not he won, which was close and he fought well considering the age factor, he gave it his best; Was I upset on it, well, ok, I had hoped Rocky would have taught him something but I feel that despite of it, a lesson was learned; Even Mason Dixon had called him "a tough old man" so you know he wasn't playing footsies in there with him; OK, perhaps him winning and going out on it would have been nice, but this one was just to show he could cut the mustard. and he proved it. And just for the record, I'm an African American woman, and I AM a serious Rocky Balboa fan.

Indeed. After rewatching it just a couple nights ago. I agree with you. It did kind of desturb me that he lost. but the movie wasnt about that. and you have to give it the factor that he is 60 years old. any man 60 years old that can even just look like him cant have any arguements :)

in that last movie, rocky balboa, had no more intentions of fighting again. he had to get back to the ring to teach his son a lesson in life. rocky had to lose it to his opponent. if he wins it, it cannot get the lesson across his son. his son will not learn the valuable lesson about winning, losing and getting up. the victorious one is the one who has lost but manages to get up and still do well and good at fighting his fights in life.
