Dancing with the Stars last night, who is your favorite?

I searched for discussions over this topic, but only got posts about prior seasons. Last night, March 19th, Dancing with the Stars premiered for another season. Among the stars, but not all of them, are: Ian Zierring (Steve - 90210), the guy from Cheers (sorry I can't spell his last name, he played the mailman), Leeza Gibbons, Clyde Drexler, and others.
First, I must say, when the former Miss USA starting making fun of how the Russian instructors bossed everyone around, I thought, what? Do you really want to tick off the best dancers in the competition?
My favorite was the guy from N'Sync, even though I never liked the group. I think his name if Joey Fatone? My least favorite was the former Miss USA. The couple I felt sorry for, was Billy Ray Cyrus and his partner. How embarrassing!
So I know a lot of people don't like DWTS, but if you do, tell me about your favorites, who are you rooting for and against, and what you find funny or interesting about the show.

I am a bit embarassed to admit it..but I love this show. I really got into the show a couple of seasons back when Drew Lachey was on. I was never a 98 degrees fan but I just loved his personality..
Before the show even started I just knew I would be rooting for Iam Ziering and Joey Fatone. I loved watching Ian on Beverly Hills 90210. I had a pretty good feeling that Joey would be a good dancer too.. coming from NSYNC. Plus, he danced on Broadway too. I think the boy band people have a bit of an edge over the rest of the competition. I remember reading that Joey used to help make up the dances routines for NSYNC. I think Ian is pretty lucky to have Cheryl Burke has his partner. I think she is one of the better teachers (and after two previous back to back wins) I think they have a real good chance of winning.
I was completely shocked at how well John Ratzenberger (Cheers) did. I am glad that he pulled out a pretty good performance. I really like him and I was a bit afraid that he would embarass himself. You gotta give him a lot of credit for learning his routine in half the time the others had. I don't think he will last long but I find him enjoyable to watch.
Billy Ray was terrible. I was cringing the whole time he was dancing.. I think Jerry Springer was a lot better than this guy. If there is any justice in this world this guy will get the boot first. I don't really care for his partner Karina. She is a great dancer but has a problem following competition rules. Last year, she and Mario Lopez would get low scores because her dances would include illegal moves or not include required moves.
I wouldn't mind seeing Miss USA go.. She makes me cringe whenever she opens her mouth. I don't know if I could stand watching this bimbo for more than a few shows.

Karina makes me nervous too. I like people who follow the rules of a competition. And Jon Ratzenberger was a tremendous sport. I don't think he'll be voted off at LEAST for another couple weeks.
I watched the first season and loved it. The second season with Drew was so good, I got my parents to watch it, although my dad won't admit to it. : )
I didn't watch the third season, but I'm back now. A lot of people are embarrassed to admit watching the show. But a whole lot of people are 'closet' viewers.
I think Ian is a front runner, like you said, as well as the model who danced with Alec, and Joey Fatone. He, more than others, have the most advantage in dancing experience.

I got my mom into the show during the season with Drew Lachey. It is funny because she just doesn't get into watching tv with the exception of watching Reba reruns, King of Queens reruns and the jewelry television stations. She would get so excited watching the show and tell me to set up an account for her to vote online for Drew. Last year, we butted heads because she wanted Mario to win and I was rooting for Joey Lawrence. My dad will watch too.. but I don't think he would ever admit it to anyone. He said he likes watching the professionals do the group dances (way too funny!).
When the show first came out... I thought "God that show is so cheesy. I would NEVER watch that.". Then towards the end of the first season they put it on every night one week. On the first night of the "marathon" I turned on for a few minutes and it got me hooked. I can see people being embarassed.. it is a really cheesy show. I am totally hooked now though.

We only get the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars, so I can't comment on yours.
The program is a big hit here.

I missed like the first 45 minutes of the show sadly. So I didn't get to see Billy Ray or Ian. Which are two I really wanted to see.
I HATE Heather Mills...can not stand her.
Love Shandi (who is the Miss USA)...we alredy knew her from GSN, which is one of the main reasons I wanted to watch this season. She was only joking around, which is what most everyone was doing last night, when she said that.

i think Ian Zering and Joey were the best, granted i didnt watch the second hour. Your right Billy Ray was pretty bad. I was surprised as how he use to be pretty darn good at dancing on the stage while he sang. I guess old age got to him LOL LOL. I put in my votes for Ian for this week. I have a feeling since he is paired with the 2 time champ he might be the winner this season.

I was wondering if maybe having the champ for a partner would work against Ian Zierring. They may think, oh, she won so many times and he lucked out to have her as a partner...On the other hand, season one's champ, Alec is competing, so that may even those feelings out.
I was proud of Heather Mills. To walk "normal" with an artificial leg is hard enough, but to dance?
