Have you ever cracked a metal pan??

I have never done it, but myth has it you can crack your metal pan by taking it straight from heat to cold water. I truely have done this countless times and never happened.

yes, and my ex has the lump to prove it. lol, just kidding, but I have broken glass pans in that way...the hot cold thing i mean, not bopping him over the head

No, I never heard that you could. I've accidentally done it with glass though.
