So my wonderful boyfriend has decided that he wants to go camping this upcoming weekend due to the gorgeous weather we have been experiencing in Texas. I am all for camping, but he wants to go camping where there is no restaurants, no hotels, no bathrooms, no place inhabitable within miles. I know I can't make it, not that I need to do my makeup or anything, but I do require a shower everyday and it would be nice to use a toilet at least once a day so I am begging not to go in an effort that he can at least have a good time in my absence. Any women out there that have gone on such a camping trip?? Or men that have taken their significant other on such a trip and what were you experiences? Would love to hear it. p.s. I rate everyone with a + and I always Mark Best Response on my discussions, have a great day~!

I love to go camping - and while I usually prefer to camp near water, I've been camping where there wasn't water available. If that's the case, just make sure you have tons of water jugs/barrels, etc. Showers are preferable but you can heat water on the campfire and use it to wash up, including your hair. You can also get the equipment for outdoor showers - if you've ever watched survivor you would have seen one. If you can't bear to use a cathole, with or without a seat of some kind...well I don't know, unless there's an outhouse available. And if you truly can't deal with all that, do you have any friends that have a popup camper you can borrow? They usually have a bed, table, stove, and toilet in them.

This is near the water just far away from anything else. I am still unsure if I could water jugs for my water, just sound like too much work that a small hotel could easily allow me to do, therefore I choose not to go on this adventure, but to let him go and take pictures and tell me about it, thanks for responding

I have not been on a camping trip since I was a kid. but some of my friends go camping with their family , they would always rent a lodge. and I thought the bathroom was in the cabin? can't you get a cabin with a bathroom in it? or is it expensive? I don't know I know alot of my friends does it.

If you really don't want to go, then he should excuse you. I think it's great that you would allow him to go and enjoy himself without you instead of insisting that he camp somewhere more hospitable, that says a lot about you! But you might try it once to please him. You might find you enjoy it, except for the bathroom part! Those poor pioneer ladies went for months without a proper bath, you might be able to handle it a few days! It would be an experience and a memory you can both share. And think how wonderful that shower will feel when you get home. Camping really does enhance our appreciation for comforts we take for granted. I love camping, but have never done extreme camping. I think I would try it once if I had the chance.

I have been camping twice before but there was always a bathroom at the campgrounds, this is the first time there is nothing, although I would love being outdoors I know that I would require a bathroom at least once a day and even though it would only be a 2 day trip I just don't feel like putting my body through such torture. Thanks for contributing.

i think for a weekend I could got without a shower, because i could shower friday before we left and then sunday when we got home, BUT i do need to have a bathroom, at least a port of potty or something like that. I mean I go camping but we go to a camp ground where they have bathrooms and showers and a place for us to get water. I do not eat out when we go camping we cook our food at the site and we just hang out around the fire at night and go fishing during the day.

Yeah I know what you mean, when he mentioned that you had to dig a hole to go to the bathroom in and I decided it wasn't for me .. thanks for contributing

My sister did the primitive camping when she was a teen at the girl scout camp. Not me, I don't like camping that much & consider camping having a picnic outside. I like a bed & resturant better than sleeping outside. I'm like my dad in that way.
