I have a 6 month old who has contracted the cold me and my son have had. She has no fever, just a runny nose, and a cough like once a day. Any ideas on how to keep her comfortable??

My 5 month old had a cold a couple of weeks ago. My doctor said to use a vaporizer and to put saline drops in her nose.

Its so hard for little babies to have a stuffy nose. Keep a nasal asperator handy to clear her nostrils and a vaperizer with some type of vicks products also helps. There are decongestants for babies, but I would be real careful using them and by all means speak to the doctor first.

The best thing to do is keep your baby slightly propped up in her bed, this helps with her breathing because the mucus has no where to go if they are laid flat, so therefore gives her a blocked nose. You can give her calpol if she gets any worse.

Aww poor baby! Just run a humidifier in her room and try to suction out her nose. You can use saline drops to help get the mucous out. Hope she feels better soon!
