Have you ever dieted and then regained the weight?

I have done Weight Watchers, South Beach Diet, and Fasting in the past. Right now, I'm counting calories. I am on a 1200 calorie a day diet in order to lose 1 pound a week. I am down from 163 to 150. I want to weigh 130. Have you ever dieted? Did you use a set program or create one yourself? Did you regain the weight? How long did you keep the weight off? I want to find the best way to lose weight and keep it off for a long time.

It is quite a common thing to lose weight only to gain it back. :/ It is hard enough to lose weight, and even harder to maintain your weight. I feel that if you want to lose weight *permanently*, you should still take care of your diet and do regular exercise after reaching your ideal weight. ;-)

I know. I keep hearing so many people say they lose and gain and lose and gain. I want to keep it off for good. Once I get down to ideal weight, I will have to watch closely so the extra weight doesn't sneak back on!

I have heard that going through too many diets will not make one lose weight. In fact, the weight will go back once the diet is stopped. The best way recommended is still to eat small balanced meal at every meal, exercise to gain muscle mass and drink plenty of water. This may not lose a lot of weight fast, but it will ensure weight is maintained and will not increase for a long time.

I think you are right. It's just so tempting to try something that is a quick fix. I guess I'll just keep watching what I eat and limiting my calorie intake and exercising.
