If my child is interested in something, then I would definitely help him to take it up as a career. That is actually, one of my ambitions in life.

I think if it was possible I would help them persue their hobby but also keep them learning convential things too. I might take them out of school but I would still make sure they were able to take their exams when they came along so that they would have a chance at getting another job if their hobby didn't turn into a career.

yes ofcourse just the minute i will know how to turn my habit into a career..lol
seriously i always loved writing and theater and i did learn this at the university and turned this to a career
i must say that it didn't take long before i realized there is no money at all in this career so now i have to work in a "real job" as people say but still am working as a freelancer at my profession.
so it all depends..what is her/his hobbie..i will tell him he could do whatever he want but i will show him all sides of it.

It is my job as a parent to encourage my children to excel in what they are good at. I would do anything I could to help them--take classe or whatever it would take to help educate them more. Sometimes hobbies can turn out to be a great career.
