Any MMA fans here? I enjoy UFC and Pride but now they may be soon under the same ownership. Rumours have been going on for a while but on a couple sites they are confirming that Pride has indeed been sold. What do you think this means for the future of Pride fighting?

Well I'm a fan of Pride and UFC for different reasons. Those uneducated in MMA wont understand but practicioners and smart fans will get what I mean. As far as a merger, I feel that it could hurt the Pride brand because I assume that if bought by UFC, Pride will adapt a lot of the same rules and overall feel of UFC. One UFC is good enough, we don't need two. We need the diversity in MMA that the two very different brands offer. I think that if this is really happening that Pride may not last long. Japanese fans respect and appreciate a differnt style than we offer here and possibly vice versa.

I agree with you,I enjoy the difference btween the two companies and I think the diversity adds to the appeal. But the owners have made the ufc a big financial success so I'd rather see Pride change a bit htan fade away to nothing. Man, they have got to keep that crazy pride lady who introduces the fights at least!
