How sick do you have to feel before you go to the doctor? Does whether or not you have health insurance play a part in your decision?

I'm a typical guy. I don't go to the doctor until there is no other choice. If I did not have health insurance it would be even worse!

I have to be very sick before I will go to the doctors. I don't like the fact that they usually just give you lots and lots medication. Sometimes I don't think that's the best way to deal with things. But if I can't get rid of what I have myself I will go to the doctors.

I usually try to go to check-ups, but then again I have no health insurance I haven't had a check up since 2005. I am going to have a check-up this month (July 2007) because I am having headaches and I am not sure why. I used to get them all the time when I was a teen. I'm not sure why they all of sudden started up. My brother takes some medicine for migraines, but I really don't want to take medicine. In fact I hate taking medicine as I know there can be other alternatives. Pablo

i can usually put up with the normal stuffy nose and spring and summer allergies. Its when the nasty cold turns into bronchitis and i cough my lungs up that i have to go to the doctor. I can stand to not breath i cant stand the cough.

Very sick. I really hate doctors and put off visiting them unless absolutely necessary. Well, that's me. :P

I have to be to the point that I end up in th e emergency room. I hate the doctor. I just went yesterday to get a Hepatitis B shot, I have to have 3 before I go to Cuba this summer. Anyway, I had high blood pressure, so now I have to go for bloodwork in about a week, then a follow up in a month. YUCK !!! I fmy blood pressure doesn't go down they'll put me on meds. It seems they always find something wrong when you go. I feel perfectly fine. My insurance is really good.. only $10 co-pay so that doesn't keep me from going. The doctors themselves hold that honor.
